Tiger Call 2011

Share your story with a Tiger!

"I was with the FHSU Singers in Ireland in 2000. My roommate and I were headed to our concert debut our first night there. As we walked through the hotel lobby an Irish gentleman complimented our tuxedos, glanced down, and said to my roomate with a scowl, 'but your shoes are dirty.' To this day we still give him a hard time about his shoes!"

"We had fun. We had A LOT of fun!!"

"While in school in the late 50’s, I was paid ONE CENT per minute to wax the floors of Picken Hall.  I loved that job!  I got in trouble, however, for being a bit too generous with the wax. I loved the shine, but students slid and fell as they came in from the winter weather!"

"I can still remember my lucky day in ’51 when the campus flooded and finals were cancelled!"

The 34th annual Tiger Call Phonathon began on Sept.12 and will run through early December. Calls are being placed by FHSU students from the AT&T Communications Center in the Robbins Center.  Faculty and staff members also participate by calling graduates from their respective departments or interest areas.

Student callers will verify and update contact and business information as well as answer any questions about FHSU. Our students enjoy hearing about former Tigers’ experiences at the university and always look forward to sharing their own experiences. Tiger Call’s central purpose is to provide alumni and friends with the opportunity to support the university with a financial contribution. Tiger Call serves as the primary fundraiser for general scholarships, and provides much needed assistance for academic departments and athletics.

Calling is currently open and will continue through early December, resuming again during the spring semester. Show your Tiger pride by taking a call from a Tiger Caller! Your participation creates greater opportunities for students, keeps the university strong and vibrant, and demonstrates your commitment to treasure memories at FHSU while providing for the future of the University.

Every gift is important and adds up to make a difference at Fort Hays State University.

Update your contact information or give now to the department or program of your choice at FHSU!
