Tiger Tag buzz among Fort Hays State University supporters is as hot as the current thermometer readings! Drivers won't be honking because of your remarkable driving skills, but rather to show their appreciation for the trendy Tiger license plate tailing your vehicle.
The "Tag! You're it" State of Kansas educational license tag program offers Tiger supporters the ideal opportunity to show their support wherever the road takes them. Approved by the Kansas legislature in 1994, the program helps fund academic scholarships and aid in the betterment of students. It's a perfect way to show everyone on your journeys not just where you're from, but where your heart is!
Any Kansas resident is eligible for a Tiger Tag by simply completing the online application form, including payment of a tax-deductible $30 royalty fee. A license plate issuance fee of $45.50, paid each five years to your county treasurer will also apply, along with any other applicable fees. Each year thereafter, simply donate $30 to the Alumni Association, and you will receive a tag certificate to renew your Tiger Tag at your county treasurer along with your regular vehicle registration fees. The donation is paid to the FHSU Alumni Association and is tax-deductible. This donation, minus a small administrative fee, will go towards the FHSU Alumni Generational Scholarship fund and other programs in recognition of student achievements.
FHSU Alumni Gold, Diamond, or Platinum members are eligible for a FREE Tiger Tag with a simple annual contribution of $75 to FHSU Foundation's unrestricted or general scholarship fund. Contact the Alumni Office to see if you qualify.
Tag numbers are consecutive numbers issued at random. The state of Kansas does not allow education license plates to be personalized or put on motorcycles. If you own or lease a passenger vehicle or truck, or if the vehicle has a gross weight of 12,000, 16,000 or 20,000 pounds, you qualify for a Tiger Tag. This program provides one plate per vehicle.
