What is the Kansas Comprehensive Grant Program?

The Kansas Comprehensive Grant Program is a new way the Kansas Legislature is funding Kansas universities.

The program will match, dollar for dollar, up to $3.25 million in donations to Fort Hays State University. Gifts from donors and the state will support scholarships for deserving FHSU students.

How will my gift be matched?

Your gift will be matched by the Kansas Comprehensive Grant Program recently created by the Kansas Legislature. The program will match up to $2.4 million.

Who will receive these scholarships?

Fort Hays State students eligible for scholarships through the KCG match program must be:

  • Kansas resident
  • Enrolled full-time
  • Demonstrate significant financial need
How much will a student receive in scholarships from this program?

For the 2023-2024 academic year, each qualifying FHSU student can receive up to $4,000 to assist with tuition and books.

Is my gift tax deductible?

Yes! Every gift to support Fort Hays State University made through the FHSU Foundation is tax deductible.

Will I be sent a receipt?

Yes! A gift receipt will be sent to your email shortly after completing the gift process.

Can I send a check?

Yes! Many FHSU supporters make gifts through a mailed check. Be sure to include “Kansas Comprehensive Grant” in your check memo line for it to be matched.
