Open Positions:

Director of Development - College of Education and Tebo Library

Posting Date: July 28, 2026

Build Relationships. Inspire Generosity. Transform Futures.

Every great university has stories of lives changed through generosity. A scholarship that made college possible. A donor whose vision inspired innovation. Those stories begin with people who believe in connecting passion with purpose.

The Fort Hays State University Foundation is seeking a Director of Development to build meaningful relationships with alumni, donors, and friends who want to shape the future of FHSU by investing in two of the university's most transformative areas – the College of Education and the newly renovated Tebo Library.

Make an Impact

This is more than a fundraising position. As a Director of Development, you'll help the College of Education and Tebo Library by connecting generous supporters with initiatives that align with their passions. Working alongside university leadership, faculty, and Foundation colleagues, you’ll help donors create new scholarships, support essential programs, or advance campus projects.

Every conversation has the potential to make a difference, and you’ll see firsthand the tangible results of your work.

What You’ll Do

Success in this role is built on trust and connection where no two days look alike. One day you'll meet with alumni across Kansas, listening to stories of their time on campus and learning what inspires them to give. The next, you'll collaborate with campus partners to identify fundraising priorities and create ways for donors to make a lasting impact.

If you enjoy engaging with people, thinking strategically, and helping others, you'll find this work both rewarding and fulfilling.

Who We're Looking For

You don't have to come from higher education fundraising to flourish here. If you've built trust, helped clients achieve goals, or connected people with opportunities – whether in business development, sales, financial planning, nonprofit leadership, healthcare, or another relationship-driven field – we'd love to talk with you.

The ideal candidate is:

  • Passionate about helping others make a difference.
  • A strong communicator who builds trust naturally.
  • Curious, strategic, and motivated by meaningful work.
  • Comfortable engaging with a wide variety of people and perspectives.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and excited to represent Fort Hays State University.
