You Choose How To Support FHSU
You can establish a named fund to recognize and honor friends, family members, colleagues, and mentors, or to simply provide support for the university in perpetuity.
You can designate your named fund to provide support for Fort Hays State University in general or for any college, unit, or program.
Types of Named Funds
Restricted Fund
- A minimum gift or pledge of $1,000 per year is required to establish.
- This fund is not invested within the endowment pool.
- Awards are designated from the contributions received.
- Gifts can be made at any time.
Endowed Fund
- A minimum gift or pledge of $10,000 currently is required.
- A permanent fund.
- Annual payout is calculated according to the FHSU Foundation spending policy.
Kansas Partnership for Faculty of Distinction Program
- Established to encourage gifts for recruiting and retaining outstanding faculty.
- Graduate assistantship/fellowship fund established with a $100,000 gift.
- Artist/executive-in-reidence fund established with a $200,000 gift.
- Distinguished professorship fund established with a $500,000 gift.
- Endowed chair fund established with $1,000,000 gift.
- The state of Kansas will make income-equivalent (or matching) grants to FHSU.
